About this tool
Which grid factor does it use?
The latest national grid emission factor from Ember via Our World in Data; Singapore uses the EMA figure.
How are trees counted?
At 22 kg of CO2 absorbed per mature tree a year.
How do I calculate the CO2 saved by solar?
Multiply the clean energy produced, in kWh, by the grid emission factor of the country, in kg of CO2 per kWh. For diesel saved, use 2.68 kg of CO2 per litre.
Can I use it for ESG reporting?
Use it for early estimates. It applies location-based national grid factors; your auditor will confirm the method for a formal report.
